Why Join Ukulele Pops 101: Summer Edition?
The ukulele is portable and friendly but mighty! All you need is 3 or 4 chords to play many of your favorite songs. You'll be strumming and singing along in no time!
Complete beginners are welcome and encouraged! If you already know a few chords, that's fine, too.
In this condensed summer format, you will gain the skills you need to play some of your favorite songs with friends. Along the way you'll also learn ukulele basics and foundational musical concepts. Come turbo-boost your ukulele skills and have fun playing with others for less than half the cost of private lessons!
What You'll Learn
At this summer session, you'll get personalized in-person feedback and learn how to:
Play essential chords and switch between them
Use go-to strumming patterns
Play some of your favorite pop songs from Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, and more!
Use the tools you learn at Ukulele Pops 101 to continue your own ukulele journey!

Who can join?
This summer session is for anyone ages 10 - 14.
How much does it cost?
Tuition is $195 per student, which includes 7.5 hours of instruction and all course materials. Each student needs to provide their own ukulele.
Who is teaching this class?
My name is Jen Courter, and I'm the instructor for the class. You can read more about me here.
What do I need to bring with me?
Bring a ukulele and your enthusiasm! Course materials will be provided on the first day, and you'll be asked to bring them with you for the rest of the week.
If you don't own a ukulele, ask a friend if you can borrow one! Otherwise, please purchase a ukulele before the session begins.

What kind of ukulele should I purchase?

What about left-handed players?
Right-handed people generally strum with their right hand. That can be an option for some left-handed players, but if you are left-handed and prefer or find it more intuitive to strum with your left hand, please have the strings on your uke reversed. The string technicians at Lamorinda Music can do that for a nominal fee.
Is it possible to attend online?
This is an in-person only experience.
Can I get a refund if something comes up?
Tuition is non-refundable.
What if I can't attend one or more of the meetings?
Makeup lessons are not available due to the condensed format.
