This ukulele jam is geared toward intermediate players, but all are welcome!
Every song list mixes easier, familiar tunes with some that may stretch you. Most jams have a theme, like Movie Music Night.
Here are some past song lists:
Everyone who registers will receive chord sheets by email a few days before the jam.
Bring $12 cash or your jam pass, the music, a music stand, a stand light, and your ukulele. Want to bring a different instrument? Please check with Jen first. Chairs will be provided.
Doors open half an hour before jam time. Come early to socialize around Up the Creek's "Kitchen Table". Soft drinks and light snacks are available for purchase.
The ukulele jam runs an hour and a half, with a 15-minute break and a chance for open mic performers. Let Jen know before the jam if you want to perform an open mic.
Free parking is available on site and at neighboring businesses and churches.
The writing on the window of Up the Creek Records says it all: "SKATEBOARDS... NEW & USED VINYL... LIVE MUSIC... COMMUNITY". Owner Nic Taylor has made this store a true hub for community through music, skateboards, and more. It's exactly the kind of place a ukulele jam belongs!

I also volunteer for the Lamorinda Ukulele Club. Laura Brandt and I co-lead the club's Monday Night Ukulele Jam program. Get details here.
I lead inclusive, upbeat ukulele jams with great music plus an opportunity to learn something new. I put a lot of thought into curating fun song lists and developing excellent chord sheets, and I come prepared to:
Point out tricky chords and transitions
Help with unfamiliar tunes
Share strumming tips
Start songs well and keep everyone together
My goal is simple: I want everyone to walk out smiling and playing a little better than they did coming in.
Ukulele players love jamming together because it's just plain fun!
